Dressing Up

When we weren’t outside getting up to no good, my childhood girlfriends and I would dive into the cardboard box of old dresses and clothes, toss something over our head and become someone totally different, a persona, and image. Dressing up is about language and imagination, exploring being someone else.  But when you are six it’s mainly about having a go at acting, rushing around in a swirly dress and still getting home in time for tea.
